W2W Fwd: Two Policy Changes

Message from Hauppauge Public Library
WhenToWork.com message from Matthew Bollerman at Hauppauge Public Library forwarded at your request.
Hello,
At the Board of Trustees meeting on October 18, two policies were updated that impact each and every employee. The first was the Pay Policy. I sent an email about this already. The second was a Sexual Harassment Policy and Complaint Form which complies with the recent changes in New York State law. Both are available online, hauppaugelibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Bylaws.and_.Policy.Manualoctober2018.pdf
In order to fully comply with the State law on preventing sexual harassment, each employee will need to acknowledge the receipt and understanding of the policy and receive training about harassment. I am utilizing Know Be 4 to manage both of these. Please expect an email from Know Be 4 asking you to read and acknowledge the policy starting tonight. The training, which is in multiple modules, needs to be completed by October 9 and needs to be taken annually. If you have any questions about either of these items, the policy or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

W2W Fwd: Pay Rates

Message from Hauppauge Public Library
WhenToWork.com message from Matthew Bollerman at Hauppauge Public Library forwarded at your request.
Good Afternoon,
The Board of Trustees at their meeting on Thursday is planning on changing our Pay Policy. Currently the policy only allows raises to be granted on an employee’s anniversary. The change is to allow ALL raises to begin on July 1. This situation was brought to my attention by the rapid changes to our salary chart due to the increases in minimum wage. The Library was hiring new employees at a rate higher than some existing employees. This change should take care of that.
In order to bring this expected policy change into being, the following will happen, depending on when your anniversary falls:
1) Your anniversary date is July 1. You will see no change or need for additional funds to adjust your salary. 2) Your anniversary date is July 2 to now. You will see a retroactive payment for hours worked from anniversary date to July 1. 3) Your anniversary date is from now to June 30. Your rate of pay will be adjusted and a retroactive payment will be made back to July 1.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this. The changes to your rate of pay and any retroactive payments should be included in this weeks payroll.
